The festival will run in the Polish capital from August 17 to September 8.

It will comprise more than 40 events, including piano and vocal recitals, symphonic and chamber concerts, and an opera production, the organizers have said.

Featured pianists will include Warsaw Chopin Competition winners Garrick Ohlsson, Dang Thai Son, Kevin Kenner, Bruce Liu, Yulianna Avdeeva, alongside Poland's Piotr Anderszewski, Ewa Pobłocka, Janusz Olejniczak, Piotr Paleczny, Szymon Nehring, and Tomasz Ritter.

The London Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic, Sinfonia Varsovia, Collegium Vocale Gent, Kammerorchester Basel, Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, the Belcea Quartet, the Apollon Musagète Quartet will perform during the festival.

Italian violin virtuoso and conductor Fabio Biondi will continue his long-standing efforts to promote the output of Stanisław Moniuszko, the father of Polish national opera, the organizers said.

He will conduct his Europa Galante period-instruments ensemble, a group of Polish and foreign soloists, and the Podlasie Opera Choir from Białystok, northeastern Poland, in a concert performance of the opera The Haunted Manor.

Biondi has previously treated Warsaw audiences to Moniuszko’s Halka, The Raftsman, The Countess, Verbum Nobile, Paria and Phantoms.

The programme of this year's Chopin and His Europe Festival reflects its continued commitment to promoting Polish composers who remain little known internationally and whose music deserves a wider exposure, such as Maurycy Moszkowski, Juliusz Zarębski, Antoni Stolpe and Feliks Janiewicz, the organizers said.

Launched in 2005, the Chopin and His Europe Festival is regarded as one of the most prestigious events on the international music circuit.
